I favor authors who can write strong characters. The downside is, this keeps me chasing them down in other books. Some book series are written by one author, some are written by different authors. This one is nice enough. Check it out if you're addicted to happily ever after.
It was a bit different from many “secret baby” plots, and I really enjoyed the twists that Ms. Lennox threw into the mix.
Lily McLachlan hasn’t had a great life, but waking up from surgery, her first question is, “Where’s my baby?”
She finds out and goes to get him. Now the fun starts.
Prince Alexandros’s problems are just beginning. He must rule his small kingdom, though he does so reluctantly, and only as Regent for the tiny boy prince, whose mother has abandoned him and run off with a sheikh (oh the IRONY in that situation!) after the death of the old King, her husband.
Without giving away plot points, I have to say that I loved this book. Harlequin’s only take me about an hour to read, but I almost always wind up feeling uplifted and just plain better after the HEA. This one took some work to get to, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lily and Alex’s journey.
I loved how competent Lily was, she saw a problem, and she took steps to make sure she had the documentation to back up her claim. She was down-to-earth and amazing from start to finish.
Alex didn’t allow life to just hit him between the eyes, he too saw something and without dithering, fixed it.
Gotta get the rest of the series!
